Hi, I’m Maddie.
My passion is people. I’m highly sensitive, empathy-driven, and inspired by human stories. I’m a wife and mother, self-compassion advocate, and believer in the inherent dignity and worth of every person.
Like you, I’m no stranger to painful challenges. My own wounds have been my greatest teachers, for they’ve illuminated the parts of me that needed healing in my own therapy. I have experienced the benefits of therapy first-hand!
I aim to create a safe, calm, and nonjudgmental atmosphere for processing difficult thoughts, feelings, sensations, and experiences. I focus on strengths: I operate from the viewpoint that we are all doing the best we can at any given moment.
I work best with people who are motivated and ready to make changes. I believe that clients are the experts on their lives, so while I offer very direct, honest feedback, I am not directive. You are in the driver’s seat. Prior to entering private practice, I worked in the arts. I love working with creative souls, and have many clients who are musicians, artists, writers, or who work in arts-supporting roles.
My qualifications: I earned my master’s degree in social work from the University of Minnesota in 2012. I frequently engage in continuing education to deepen my practice and stay informed on emerging research. I have completed level 1 and 2 EMDR training, Anchored Relational Therapy (formerly AIR Network), and am level 1 certified in Narrative Therapy.
